PRP Treatments

The Benefits

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatments use concentrated growth factors found in your own blood to stimulate new collagen growth in order to treat skin conditions such as acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, skin texture, pore size, stretch marks, and pigment issues. It is applied in conjunction with micro-needling to stimulate the maximum amount of collagen possible.

Most Common Uses

- Improve skin texture and tone

- Reduce pore size

- Reduce fine lines and wrinkles

- Improve acne scarring

What to Expect During and After Treatment

Three days before your treatment you will need to stop using any Retinoid products and be sure to have no sun exposure to treatment area (wear sunscreen and a hat whenever outside). 24 hours before, and up to time of PRP treatment you need to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate with water. At your appointment, I will apply a topical numbing medication to decrease your discomfort and then prepare the PRP by withdrawing a tube of your own blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected into the treatment area using a micro-needling device.

Aftercare

- No makeup, moisturizer, sunscreen, or any other skincare on treated area for 24 hours

- No sun exposure to treatment area for 1 week

    Is It for You?

YES! (unless you are pregnant or nursing)

    The Science

Plasma is the liquid portion of whole blood. It is composed largely of water and proteins, and it provides a medium for red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets to circulate through the body. Platelets, also called thrombocytes, are blood cells that cause blood clots and other necessary growth healing functions. Platelet activation plays a key role in the body's natural healing process.
